Seems like you guys are just throwing out the concept of normalized movement, might as well go all the way... could the faster movement be trying to counteract the LAVs?
There are no direct changes to faster movement . This is perception based on the performance changes that were made to increase the fluidity of the game and the frame rate, combined with better hit detection. |

There have been no changes to strafe speed. The movement settings in 1.2 are the same as they were before. I suspect it simply feels a little different because performance is now so much better :-)
CCP Wolfman Lying. not the same, and very obviously. (strafe faster than forward...)
I disagree - I haven't seen any noticeable differences personally. I tend to believe a man who has no reason to lie. Also, release notes didn't indicate this change, and this falls under what they would normally put in the notes.

It's a proven fact that strafing is faster now, as well as several other movement inhibitions being removed ( fast directional changing after jumping, faster backpeddle in and out of warbarge, ability move after the impact from intertia dampeners, etc). You can't disagree with proven facts. You can only be wrong. This isn't a matter of opinion.
Ok - how did you prove it? Where are the stats? What tools did you use to measure this? How did you account for the changes in performance indicated by someone who developed the game? Were you sure to take measurements before 1.2 came out, so you would have something to compare 1.1 it to empirically when 1.2 did come out:? Etc.
I've not seen anyone post this, and until I do I tend to believe the guy who works on the game, especially since my personal experience is different than yours. |

I've not seen anyone post this, and until I do I tend to believe the guy who works on the game, especially since my personal experience is different than yours. I'm just too lazy to chop up some clips from all the video I've been recording these past couple months. If you can't see the difference then you've either never played the old builds, or you've never paid a whole lot of attention while doing so.
Been playing since May 2012; as for differences between Uprising 1.1 and 1.2, my stats are the same in terms of KDR and kill assists. Further, I do pay attention, and it feels the same to me as it did before.
As a matter of fact, I can tell you strafing is much improved from earlier builds and I've always noticed when it was changed before. I didn't notice a change here.
Also, if "you" (the general you, not you specifically) want to argue a point, and say it's a fact, please have proof to back it up. Without proof, you are just another person complaining without giving a solution. There are plenty of people here who give the numbers because they care enough. If you only care enough to make a blanket statement of "fact" without proof, then I will take your "fact" with a grain of salt, all things being equal. Again, general "you", and not you specifically. |
